Aryan Sarparast, M.D., works as an outpatient psychiatrist and assistant professor of psychiatry at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He predominantly works with patients to manage medications and provide psychotherapy. He is involved in psychotherapy teaching, trainee supervision, and mentorship. In addition, he works locally to advocate for psychiatrist training in asylum evaluations for Afghan refugees and hopes one day that safe administration of psychedelic treatments will be available for immigrants and other marginalized communities in need of recovery. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and writing speculative fiction.
