Rapé Circle, New York
May 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Tobacco is one of the most prevalent and respected sacred plants among Indigenous and traditional peoples of the Americas. One of the ways it is traditionally consumed is in the form of rapé snuff.
Portal Community Center is partnering with the Chacruna Institute for an evening of experiential learning about rapé. This is a chance to make direct contact with the world of visionary plants, and to sit with teachers who carry these medicines with the blessing and permission of their partners in the Amazon.
Learn about the history, traditions, and contemporary uses of rapé
Explore a new relationship with tobacco
Come away with your own rapé and kuripe (pipe for self-administration)
Support Chacruna’s mission of decolonization and cultural exchange in the psychedelic space
The event will be concluded with music and fellowship of a co-created rapé circle. We hope you can join us!
Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 from 12-1:30pm PST
