Here is the official information:
We are proud to announce the first ever Los Angeles Psychedelic Science Symposium (LAPSS), taking place on June 22-23 at the Ackerman Grand Ballroom at UCLA.
We are in the midst of a psychedelic renaissance. After decades of research silence following the schedule I assignment of psychedelic medicines, the field is experiencing a breakthrough in healing and science. For this reason, the UCLA Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) and the Los Angeles Medicinal Plant Society (LAMPS) have come together to co-sponsor this event.
EVENT SYNOPSIS
Title: Los Angeles Psychedelic Science Symposium
Dates: June 22nd- 23rd 2018
Venue: UCLA Ackerman Grand Ballroom (seats about 1100 with room for vendors)
Sponsors: Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) UCLA, Los Angeles Medicinal Plant Society (LAMPS), Aware Project: Rethinking Psychedelics, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), and a growing sponsor list.
Description: Top research scientists from around the world are invited to present recent findings from their evidence-based research on psychedelic medicines, such as LSD, Psilocybin, Ketamine, Ayahuasca, Iboga, Cannabis, etc., and their subsequent beneficial effects for psychological and physical ailments, including depression, anxiety, addictions, PTSD, headaches, cancer, etc.
In addition to taking place at one of the most influential hubs on the planet (Los Angeles), some salient features include:
- A strong emphasis in welcoming students. We are reserving a third of ticket sales at half price for students.
- A strong emphasis in welcoming veterans. We are reaching out to veterans and seeking sponsorships to help lower the costs of their attendance.
- A commitment to direct leftover proceeds (after allocation of symposium costs) to fund non-profit research investigating the effects of plant medicines (e.g., micro-dosing Aya- huasca, Iboga, Cannabis, et al.) on the course of Alzheimer’s Disease.
