Fabiana Maizza is an assistant professor in Anthropology at the University of Pernambuco, Brazil. She obtained a Ph.D. degree in Social Anthropology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (2009), and a master’s degree from the University of Nanterre (Paris X). Her current research focuses on the relations between humans and cultivated plants, as well as on gender relations among the Jarawara. She has published articles on female agency, feminist politics of life, ecology and feminism, and human-plant relations. She is an associate researcher at the Centre of Amerindian Studies (CESTA) at the University of São Paulo and at the Centre Enseignement et Recherche en Ethnologie Amérindienne (EREA/Lesc), Paris.
