Press Release – Enrolling Now: Queering Psychedelics

Queering Psychedelics: Intersectionality, Healing, Spirituality, and Liberation

San Francisco, CA — [July, 2025] — The Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines, a global leader in ethical psychedelic education, is thrilled to offer a new session of its groundbreaking course: Queering Psychedelics: Intersectionality, Healing, Spirituality & Liberation. This nine-week live, online course runs from July 28 to October 6, 2025.

This vibrant, justice-centered course re-centers queer voices in the psychedelic renaissance and affirms the essential contributions of LGBTQIA+ communities to the past, present, and future of psychedelia. Drawing on spiritual, clinical, and cultural perspectives, the course invites students to explore critical issues of identity, power, and transformation in psychedelic healing. Ideal for therapists, activists, researchers, ceremonial leaders, and all seekers, it fosters a space of inquiry, reflection, and empowerment.

Course Overview

Dates: July 28 – October 6, 2025
Format: Live Online, Mondays 10:30am–12pm PDT / 1:30pm–3pm EST
CE Credits: Pending Approval
Faculty: Taught by world-renowned queer scholars, therapists, Indigenous leaders, and psychedelic experts.

Key Learning Topics:

  • Queerness and the psychedelic renaissance
  • Psychedelic-assisted therapy for LGBTQ+ communities
  • Two-Spirit and Indigenous perspectives in queer psychedelia
  • Sex positivity, embodiment, and somatics
  • Spirituality, liberation, and healing from systemic oppression
  • Pleasure, resistance, and cultural transformation

A Dynamic Faculty

Students will learn from a vibrant, interdisciplinary team, including:

  • Dr. Alex Belser, psychedelic researcher and LGBTQ+ advocate
  • Justin Natoli, JD, LMFT, psychotherapist and ketamine practitioner
  • Taylor Dahlia Bolinger, LMSW, co-founder, Decriminalize Nature Dallas
  • Jennifer C. Jones, PhD, LCSW & Aisha Mohammed, LMFT, Rising Caps Collective
  • Kanyon Sayers-Roods, two-spirit artist and cultural director
  • Dee Dee Goldpaugh, LCSW, author and psychotherapist

“The scope of the faculty was very broad. I was very happy to see that they came from all different kinds of backgrounds. The most valuable lesson from this course is that the medicalisation of psychedelics is only a very small fraction of the entire field of psychedelics. If someone is considering taking this course, I would say: go for it. You won’t be disappointed.

Daniël Kleinloog, MD, PhD, anesthesiologist, psychedelic practitioner in training

Students will leave with deep insights and tangible tools to foster inclusivity and ethical engagement in psychedelic healing spaces. Whether you’re seeking personal growth, professional development, or community wisdom, this course offers a rare and needed pathway into the heart of queer psychedelia.

Why This Course Stands Out

  • Justice-Informed Pedagogy: Rooted in queer liberation, intersectionality, and decolonial values
  • Queer-Centered Curriculum: Elevates LGBTQIA+ experiences often marginalized in psychedelic discourse
  • Culturally Grounded: Highlights Indigenous, BIPOC, and two-spirit teachings often erased from mainstream narratives
