As we look at the various plant medicines that can offer health and healing benefits, one that comes to mind (though less mainstream in the current conversation surrounding psychedelics) is ibogaine. Ibogaine has been looked at for its potential in significantly improving many problematic drug use. However, when looking at ibogaine treatment, there are many issues that may arise regarding family support and understanding of the person in treatment: families may expect their loved one to be same as they were before treatment, they may expect an apology for their loved one’s actions before treatment, they may feel obligated to go through treatment themselves, and much more. This emphasizes the importance of folks to understand what ibogaine treatment entails, whether they are the person in treatment or someone in their support group. What happens to the individual after returning home from Ibogaine treatment? What can we do for the person treated and for the people in their support network, both before and after ibogaine treatment, to create the best possible and enduring long-term treatment outcomes? Join us in this forum with Tom Feegel, who is the CEO of Beond, Dr. Thomas Kingsley Brown, who is the Coordinator of the McNair Program at UC San Diego and an advisor to Beond, and Talia Eisenberg, who is a serial entrepreneur focused on services in the wellness and psychedelics industry, to get insights to these questions and more.

He currently works as the Coordinator of the McNair Program at UC San Diego and as an advisor to Beond (https://www.beond.us/).
