This community forum bring together leading experts at the intersection of naturopathic medicine and psychedelic therapy to delve into the profound connections between these two holistic healing modalities. Dr. Matthew Hicks is a naturopathic doctor, researcher, and seasoned psychedelic therapist he is founder of the Synaptic Institute, where he pioneers innovative approaches to healing. He will be joined by Dr. Olivia Giguere, co-director of the Synaptic Institute and naturopathic doctor specializing in holistic mental health care and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Moderating the session will be Dr. Erica Zelfand, a ketamine prescriber, facilitator of therapeutic psychedelic journeys, and international speaker and medical writer. They will share their insights, experiences, and discuss the synergistic collaboration between naturopathic professionals and the pivotal role they play in psychedelic therapy and medicine.
Dr. Hicks is a naturopathic doctor, researcher, and psychedelic therapist. He is the founder of Synaptic Institute a non-profit psychedelic training program and integrative mental health clinic in Portland, Oregon. He is also the host of the Integrative Psychiatry Review Podcast.
Dr. Olivia Giguere is a naturopathic doctor specializing in holistic mental health care and psychedelic assisted therapy. She is the co-director of Synaptic Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating students in the application of psychedelic medicine. This includes training students in psilocybin facilitation under the Oregon Measure 109 model as well as teaching doctors and therapists how to safely implement ketamine assisted therapy into their practice.
Dr. Erica Zelfand is a ketamine prescriber, facilitator of therapeutic psychedelic journeys, acclaimed international speaker, and medical writer. She is a MAPS-trained lead educator in the nation’s first licensed mushroom facilitator training program, the CEO of the nonprofit Right to Heal (USA), and a Retreat Leader with Right to Heal Mexico. To every presentation Dr. Erica brings her first-generation directness, reverence for the human spirit, and a bar of dark chocolate.
