As Chacruna comes to third anniversary of our foundational conference Queering Psychedelics, and get ready to launch our new book on the subject matter in December, we would like to invite our community to celebrate pride month with a Queer Psychedelic Integration Circle which will be free. We’re now almost two decades into the Psychedelic Renaissance, with clinical trials investigating psychedelics for a number of therapeutic applications at leading universities. There has been little discussion, however, about how these substances might be used to heal the disproportionate rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions in the LGBTQIA+ community. The perspectives of people within the queer community who might enrich the psychedelic movement have also been neglected. Justin Natoli, who is part of Chacruna’s Women, Gender Diversity, and Sexual Minorities group, will be leading this circle and hold this safe space for meditation, reflection, and celebration. The circle is open to everyone, not just queer people, although it will have a queer perspective and focus.

Justin Natoli, JD, LMFT (He/They) is a psychotherapist, Hakomi practitioner, ketamine-assisted therapist, and doctoral student in psychedelic studies. In their private practice in Los Angeles, Justin specializes in Depth and somatic psychotherapies, trauma, psychedelic integration, and working within kink, poly, and LGBTQIA+ communities. They are passionate about sharing Queer, sex-positive medicine by publishing articles, facilitating retreats, and serving on the Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines’ Women, Gender Diversity, and Sexual Minorities Working Group. They received a JD with honors from the UCLA School of Law and a Master’s in Depth psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute. They are currently obtaining a Ph.D. in psychedelic studies from Ubiquity University and certificates in psychedelic therapy and research from the California Institute of Integral Studies and the AWE Foundation.
